Amidst all the brouhaha surrounding Iron Man 2, Marvel would also like to remind fans that the next movie to be released will be Thor, and the best way to do that was to finally reveal what Chris Hemsworth looks like as the Norse thunder god. Hemsworth hasn't been very forthcoming about his costume, remarking last month that he has to wear "semi-blond eyebrows and a beard" and that the "impressive" costume would look good on "anyone."
The photo of Hemsworth in his Thor costume is the movie's first official photo, and while it's clear Hemsworth was right about the eyebrows and and the beard, we're not sure if just anyone would look good in the costume. It probably helps to have at least a passing resemblance to the comic book character.
Thor opens May 20, 2011, with direction from Kenneth Branagh and starring Hemsworth; Anthony Hopkins as Thor's father, Odin; Natalie Portman as Thor's love interest, Jane Foster; Joshua Dallas as Fandral; Ray Stevenson as Volstagg; Tadanobu Asano as Hogun; and Tom Hiddleston as the villainous Loki.
